Hello ASU Students!
The American Diabetes Association Diabetes Expo, the largest health education event in the valley, is on Saturday, April 24 at the Phoenix Convention Center from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. In the fight against diabetes, we are in need of your help.
The Diabetes Expo provides resources for detection, prevention, education and management of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, including:
· Culinary Area with healthy cooking demonstrations
· Cultural Diversity Area with culturally appropriate diabetes information
· Active World with demonstrations of great activities that will help people stay healthy
· Youth Zone with games and activities for the kids, including a chef to teach kids how to prepare healthy snacks
· Top keynote speakers throughout the day that will address various topics including research, Medicare prescription coverage, avoiding complications of diabetes, etc.
· Free health screenings and the latest in product technologies, services,
medications, nutritional education, etc.
Volunteers are the driving force in our efforts to accomplish our mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all affected by diabetes. We value and appreciate your support and dedication.
If you are available on April 24th, even for part of the day or all day, we would greatly appreciate your help. Please email me at earreola@diabetes.org. I will respond with additional details.
On behalf of all the people with diabetes, we thank you for supporting the American Diabetes Association. We could not do it without you.
With gratitide,
Edyth
